2015 Pacrim Invitational Raises $30,000 for Give Kids The World Village for a Grand Three Year Total of $74,500

$25,000 Raised for Mount Saint Vincent University Tourism & Hospitality Management Program

On Wednesday, July 27th the Pacrim Invitational started with its reception where Glenn Squires, President & CEO of Pacrim On Wednesday, July 18th the Pacrim Invitational started with its reception at The Lord Nelson Hotel in downtown Halifax. Glenn Squires, President & CEO of Pacrim Hospitality Services Inc. welcomed sponsors, donors, players and Brian Jessop, Vice President, Administration, Mount Saint Vincent University along with other MSVU staff and also several students who were past recipients of the Pacrim scholarship at Mount Saint Vincent University.

$25,000 Raised for Mount Saint Vincent University Tourism & Hospitality Management Program

On Wednesday, July 27th the Pacrim Invitational started with its reception where Glenn Squires, President & CEO of Pacrim Hospitality Services Inc. welcomed sponsors, donors, players and Dr. Ramona Lumpkin, President & Vice-Chancellor, Mount Saint Vincent University along with her staff and also several students who were recipients of the Pacrim scholarship.

All net proceeds from the live and silent auctions which took place on Thursday, July 28th at Oakfield Golf and Country Club are designated to the Tourism and Hospitality Management program at Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU). This year the Pacrim Invitational presented a cheque to MSVU for $25,000 bringing the ten year total to over $350,000.

$35,000 Raised for Mount Saint Vincent University Tourism & Hospitality Management Program

On Thursday, July 30th, one hundred and thirty-six golfers from across Canada and the United States participated in the 8th annual Pacrim Invitational at Oakfield Golf and Country Club which is located just outside of the City of Halifax. The participants consisted of Pacrim’s partners, investors and suppliers.

All net proceeds from the live and silent auctions for the annual event are designated to the Tourism and Hospitality Management program at Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU). This year the Pacrim Invitational presented a cheque to MSVU for $35,000 bringing the eight year total to well over $300,000.

The Tourism and Hospitality Management Program at Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU) in Halifax has received a financial boost in excess of $54,000 to support scholarship and leadership programs for students. For the seventh consecutive year Pacrim Hospitality Services Inc. (PHSI), one of Canada’s largest hotel management companies, contributed all proceeds from the Pacrim Invitational Golf Tournament to “building tourism and hospitality leaders,” said Glenn Squires, CEO of PHSI.

Held on July 26, 2007 at Oakfield Golf and Country Club, the Pacrim Invitational attracted 144 golfers from, across Canada and the United States, many of whom are investors, partners and suppliers of PHSI. This years tournament raised $95,500 bringing the grand total that PHSI has donated to the MSVU tourism and hospitality program over six years to $214,000.

This year’s event was our most successful to date, raising a record amount for the scholarship program. As in previous years the event kicked off with a pre-tournament reception on Wednesday, July 26th at East Side Mario’s, Bedford Row. The tournament followed on Thursday, with flawless weather, at Oakfield Golf & Country Club.

This year's event began with a special treat with the Pre-reception on Wednesday, August 3rd being held at the Atlantic Beer Institute in the Keith's Brewery on Lower Water Street in Halifax. The Tournament followed on Thursday, August 4th once again at the beautiful Oakfield Golf & Country Club, Grand Lake, NS.

The tournament was held on Thursday, July 22nd at the beautiful Oakfield Golf & Country Club, Grand Lake, Nova Scotia. Registration took place at 10:00 a.m., followed by brunch, with the horn sounding promptly at 12:00 noon to signify the start of the tournament. The participants returned around 5:30 for another reception followed by a 4 course dinner and a live auction. The weather was somewhat threatening early in the morning but it turned out to be another "weather perfect golf day".

The Pacrim Invitational presents management and staff volunteers the opportunity to network with a wide variety of Pacrim Hospitality business partners, customers and suppliers. At the same time, the Pacrim Invitational provides much needed funding for the Pacrim Tourism and Hospitality Management program at Mount Saint Vincent University. The 2003 event raised a tremendous total of $25,000 for this program.
